Welcome

  Welcome to avitaNetwork.

We source eco-friendly material for your fashion creation.

We have worked with eco-friendly fabric for many years and can reduce your time to find and qualify true suppliers of environmentally friendly fabric.

In addition to finding you the most qualified eco fabric on the planet we have the resources to assist with bringing your creation to market.

Today only a small portion of the clothing we wear is made from material that does not pollute the environment. Sustainable and natural fibers are now available at price levels that are competitive with traditional materials. And the texture and feel of the fabric is wonderful!

It is estimated that half of the industrial pollutants in our water supply originate from textile manufacturing to make clothes.

Contact us at info@avitaNetwork.com to find out how we can reduce your cost to find eco-friendly material, reduce the cost and time to deliver your creation to market, and help make the planet a better place to live.

Ways to Clean Green

  1. Avoid buying clothing with "dry clean only" labels. Today, most items, like silk and wool can be hand-washed.
  2. When using a machine to wash garments turn them inside out and they will last longer.
  3. Use eco-friendly detergents, fabric softeners and stain removers.
  4. Avoid chlorine bleach and use "oxygen bleaches" instead.

Natural "Original" Bamboo Fiber Vs. Bamboo Pulp Fiber

(This information is from our friends at Suzhou Hengrui Import & Export Co. Ltd.)

There are many nuances in the production and type of bamboo that meet eco-friendly standards. Bamboo made from a process called "original" bamboo is much different than bamboo fabric made from a pulp or viscose process.

Original bamboo fiber is more natural, green, and eco-friendly than bamboo fiber produced from a pulp fiber or viscose process. It is the appearance of original bamboo fiber that attracted many customers all over the world, and today is the mainstay of true eco sensitive apparel.

Natural "original" bamboo fiber is directly picked from bamboo without any chemical additive. Natural original bamboo fiber is pure green natural fiber manufactured through both physical and mechanical methods.

Original bamboo fiber looks like ramie fiber, but is even finer and thinner. Because of the process to make this type of bamboo fabric the natural antibacterial and germicidal effect of bamboo fiber is preserved and stronger than ramie fiber.

The work flow for the production of natural "original" bamboo fiber is interesting and complex and starts with raw bamboo that is first cut into strips with the individual strips then steamed. This is followed by a mechanical and natural crushing and decomposing step with the use of biological (natural) enzymes called de-gumming. Separate fibers are then generated into something similar to what we see everyday as threads with colors created according to standards or fiber carding. With the fiber threads carded or categorized natural original bamboo fiber is created!

The production process of bamboo pulp fiber is similar to that of viscose. Bamboo strips are first processed into pulp (typically done with heat and chemicals to accelerate the process) with the pulp then made into large sheets. The pulp sheets are further processed through a wet spinning phase which results in the production of bamboo fiber.

Disadvantages of this kind of bamboo fiber processing are visible deterioration of the fiber’s properties such as antibacterial, deodorant and ultraviolet radiation resistant because of the destroyed natural characteristics of the bamboo during process of preparation.

"Original" bamboo fiber is a truly natural, green, and eco-friendly fiber and is whiter and softer than bamboo pulp fiber. Original bamboo fiber can be  produced from 5~8.33dtex (average 6dtex) to 95mm sizes!

Natural original bamboo fiber fills a new niche for green natural bamboo products and is a revolution for apparel.

Eco Citizenship

by Terry Wolters, avitaNetwork eco-Partner

There is a lot of discussion about the unfortunate and negative impact of textile manufacturing on the planets well-being and the steps being taken to improve the situation.

Our goal at avitaNetwork is to improve the communications and commerce opportunities between apparel designers and material suppliers through steps that we call eco-citizenship tm. These steps encompass a broad range of choices for participants and include goals to:

  • Reduce carbon footprint
  • Increase the use of material fibers from reduced or pesticide free plants
  • Support fair labor and work safety practices
  • Adopt and use dyes that are less toxic, such as vegetable based dyes
  • Use newer finishing technologies `(the use of air instead of water for this finishing step can reduce pollutants from the process by nearly 70%)
  • Paperless or paper reduced practices for the transportation, inventory or registration of material or products

Bamboo is perhaps nature's most sustainable resource and grows without pesticides and it's 100% biodegradable.

Bamboo is also a durable material that does not wrinkle or "fuzz", and is easy to maintain. It has natural UV protection (as you would expect from a natural fiber).

From a designers perspecive it offers a number of benefits:

High tenacity, low breakage

Durable for seam areas

Suitable for all knitting purposes

Resistant to perspiration

Low shrinkage

Excellent color fastness
